Rocking chair

Every night without fail,
She got up at two in the morning
Padded softly around the house
Stole a look at the sky that slept
Opened the door softly
and shut it behind her
so that slumber
stayed in
and carried her pain(s)
to the patio
to her rocking chair
where she sat and rocked
herself back and forth
She didn't sleep
neither did she weep
but the rocking chair
heard her out
every single word
in utter silence
