The tumble down.

She picked up her coffee and gingerly made her way to the balcony. Rolled up her pajama legs , as the tiled  floor was still wet from the thundershower last night.
Gloriously crispy sunshine. It dazzled her. The school bus was late again. She hated this civil set up. You could not discipline drunken drivers . The girls were having a heated argument at the gate , now that they did not have their mother breathing down their neck. She sighed. They are not even aware that I am looking at them , right this moment, she thought bitterly, as she sipped her manna. The gatekeeper looked at them with mild amusement, rubbing his tobacco between his palms.

Slowly but surely, a largish lorry made its way in through the gate . the driver had a chat with the gatekeeper, signed in some pads, and waved in the direction of her balcony .The girls turned, looked at her, and waved. She waved back. The younger one jumped up and down , mouthing some word, then ran around to the lorry driver's side and pointed in her direction.

"S***!"Those were the furniture guys. They were not supposed to come till 12 am . She hastily made in, grabbed a pair of jeans from her higgledy -piggledy bed on the floor and tried pushing a leg into it hastily , while running to her mother's washroom , asking her to hurry up.

The girls would miss the school assembly, the furniture wallahs would crowd her house, smoking their filthy beedis all over the house, why were they such imbeciles !!Why couldn't they stick to her schedule !! Bloody civilians !!

All the chaotic thoughts jumbled her mind , as she grabbed her car keys and asked Ma to hurry up for the nth time.

One misstep on the top of the stair, and she went flying down the wet stairs, hitting the wall and banisters , as she went. Shame and pain burnt her up , as she met the startled look of a worker, hoisting her four poster bed on his bony shoulders.

"Oh Bother!"
