cushioned upholstery
within
closed doors
and airless
windows
life was
nurtured
with
extreme
care
and comfort

Care was
taken
of every aspect
dusted
cleaned
washed
fed
put to
bed
In the end
when the
time came for
the casket
to be
opened
and the lid
to be lifted
it was
found that
the grain was missing

dried,
died ,
shrivelled
vanished
evaporated
long ago;
what
remained was
the
mere
husk/shell
peel/outer cover
for one
to
ponder
over
